Improving Base Wheels with Paint???

I recently ordered my Model X 60D and opted for the base wheels for the longer wear on the tires, but just have not been impressed with the lack of style. So with the help of Photoshop, I tested some "paint" ideas of the base wheels and would like to get some feedback. Lots of ways to paint wheels or plasti dip, so let me know what you think...
Do these make the wheels look better or is it just "lipstick on a pig"?

Ps. While I love the look of the wheels, they don't really fit the X. They would look good on a Golf GTI but not on the X.
But then again, I don't like any multi color rims for the X.

I think it could look nice; have never heard of painting part of the wheels before though.

I think it looks cool, but I'd test it with plasti-dip first, so you can remove it, if it ends up... not working out.

it goes on like spray paint, but peels off line a sunburn. the MORE coats the better. AT LEAST 4. anything less and you'll have a hell of a time removing it.

Has anyone done a plasti dip on OEM wheels? I have 22" Black Onyx, which has little shine on it and thinking about making it more shiny/glossy. Am I sounding crazy???
