Imagine, if you will, this horrible scenario: Its eleven pm, and you receive a text message from your Tesla app that a new update, one that you’ve been waiting for like “excluding home from walk-away door lock” or “open door/window notification” has just been downloaded. You wait until the update finishes downloading, and you run to the garage to try these cool new updates. You make the necessary changes to your vehicle options and test the changes. NOTHING! NO CHANGES! Apparently these options require that the car be driven before they take effect ... but wait ... it’s eleven pm and I’m in my pajamas!!! This horrifying scenario CAN be prevented. There appears to be no earthly reason why door locking and other such notifications need to be activated by driving. That’s my opinion. I guess I could just stay in my street clothes longer.
