I was in California last week and stopped by a Tesla store to take another look at the 3. They did not have a display unit but there was one parked outside, likely awaiting delivery. I looked at it closely and, at first glance, it looked substantially better put together than the one I have seen at my local Texas showroom. Come to think about it, every car I saw or drove in the few Texas showrooms I visited had various glaring build quality issues.
Could this be a coincidence or could they purposely choose to use the crummy ones as display units in “flyover country”?
I can see why they’d keep rather that deliver those with flaws, but using vehicles with badly misaligned panes, poor-looking welds, fraying headliners or barely latching doors as demos is odd to say the least.
