In sone threads, including this one I started How to use fog lights? there are answers posted that are flat out wrong (a specific example, some post that you cannot use fog lights independent of the head lights, but setting the lights to Parking will allow fog lights to be on without the low beams).

Many people seeking information will find a thread, start reading until they see something that appears to be the answer that they seek, possibly without reading the next 20, 30, or more posts which might provide more detailed information, or correct the incorrect information provided. Especially, when some threads take two or three turns and have a great deal of extraneous conversation going back-and-forth, before correct information is provided.

I know it’s a lot of work for the moderators, but what if… when user reports information as incorrect with proof, the mod highlights the bad information and clicks a button that says “moderator note- this information might not be correct”. (Background highlighted in yellow)

lot of work, but better than hosting incorrect information
