The problem with the Infiniti LE was that it was a Leaf with a luxury shell and interior. There was no upgrade to the battery pack or drive train to justify it being a luxury car. And now Nissan is going to take another year or two to redesign a car that didn't make any sense in the first place. C'mon Nissan, you can do better than this.
 
Presumably, Ghosn knew what he was getting when Johan de Nysschen came over from Audi. This guy is not an EV advocate by any stretch. I expect to see an Infiniti diesel marketed in the US before a BEV.
That said, he's got bigger priorities like reconstituting a moribund brand, and I can't fault him for delaying rollout of a re-packaged >$50k LEAF into a market that Tesla imagined, created, dominates and continues to re-define.
