Some companies have already been providing hand's/eyes free navigation and music selection.
While there is something about their study I disagree with (how could 3 identical OnStar systems have wildly different risk levels?) it still is a significant problem.

Being one who enjoys all functions of driving I understand that there are many who just need to get somewhere and driving is a distractor for all the other things they are doing behind the wheel. Thus the auto drive. Once it is fully up and running these distracted drivers can just sit back and play with all their toys until they get to their destination. Not just a cool extra to have a self driving car. It will become standard nd then mandatory. jp
