Instrument cluster on S shows rear door open instead of trunk

IC on my 12/16 S has been falsely reporting passenger side rear door open when trunk is open. This fault first occurred before HW3 upgrade a couple months ago and persists. Since IC panel was replaced with HW3, it must be software and it puzzles me that it persists after what seems like nearly a year. I have a second service appointment to address the issue. Anyone have any suggestions or experience with this issue?

Bump....I couldn’t edit/correct the title of my thread. The issue is when I open the right rear door, the instrument cluster shows an open rear trunk.
