[OT] sort of - but of general interest for the management of this thread. Who /where do I address feedback re broken links within this thread?

Since I looked it up in detail and was lucky to find an archived version:
I don't understand how an internal reference to a previous post disappeared. Or did I miss that the original post was deleted - or is there something broken in the indexing (if for some reason a re-indexing occurs, all previously quoted posts don't get updated and are therefore "lost" or deleted )

Goes to a page that doesn't show the original post, why is that?

Note, by luck turns out it was archived in the Wayback Machine at

I found the post you're looking for here: Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

It's not reliable to link to specific posts by the URL in the browser such as
https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/threads/tesla-tsla-the-investment-world-the-perpetual-investors-roundtable.139047/page-12694#post-5429235

That's because the page or even the thread a post is on/in can change. This might be because off topic posts earlier in the thread were be split off, spam deleted, duplicate threads merged, or some other moderator action.

URLs like the one above are linking the the the thread first, then the page, then anchor on the post within the page. In this case it turns out that post 5429235 is no longer on page 12694 of thread 139047 (as it was on April 1, 2021), so the post anchor doesn't work and the browser just stays at the top of that page. Some prior posts in that thread must have been moved out after April 1, and that post 5429235 is now on page 12690.

So linking to this URL
https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/threads/tesla-tsla-the-investment-world-the-perpetual-investors-roundtable.139047/page-12690#post-5429232
works as of right now. But it's more reliable to link directly to the post like this:
https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/posts/5429235/

The post IDs are unique to each post and don't change. This is why I have every share link for posts (the date, bookmark, post number) in this form.

Argh - thanks for detailed explanation.

Would you mind pointing out how to hunt a post like the one above? .. the search elastic something I haven't figured out ... or I've been over conditioned by Google's search method.
