International Centre delivery experiences

Pickup date May 29th at Lawrence but was changed to May 31st at the international centre.

The experience is horrible, didn't expect such a long wait time. Was not prepared for the wait. I had to push off all my plans after. Arrived at 3:30 pm as appointment scheduled and is still here at 730pm waiting. Didn't expect this, just hope they don't send us home at this point. Hungry and waiting...

I suggest anyone scheduled an appointment at international centre to be prepared to wait for the day to pickup their model 3. Waiting prepared is better than waiting unprepared, bring things to district you.

Lastly, it would be nice to get any updates on the status of the delivery.. everyone sitting here is clueless regarding the status of the pick up.

Projector with name, now that would have been a good idea.
Sorry, wanted to share my experience today, we need just extra hours but staff is very friendly.

1. Delivery time: 1 PM (I arrived on time at their front desk), I was told that there is some delay.
I went out for lunch for 45 minutes after that. There are lots of restaurants on airport road and area.
2. 3 PM: I was asked to look at car, car was parked in hall. I took a few pictures and looked around. Overall car was in good condition
3. 3:15 pm Signed Paper
4. I was told to wait for some time so that car can be taken outside and plates are installed and paper work to be reviewed.
5. There was a TV in the hallway, where a lady was explaining the basic functionalities of car. Two cars were parked to look at.
6. 4:30 PM, invited to take delivery of car

Minor issues: Back and front bumper panels were slightly off and a minor paint issue under fog lights.
They recorded it on a sheet and gave me a copy.

Coffee/Tea: During my stay of 3.30 hours, coffee and best quality tea was ample.
A person was there most of the time to serve the coffee.

I forgot everything in moments, when I drove it home. The car is amazing wrt its look performance and overall drive. I could feel the enjoyment throughout.

Advice to Tesla staff: 1. Once a person is called in then try to help them end to end:
A) Show them car and help write down any issues
B) Get paper work signed on table at the same time instruct the staff to install license plate
C) Help review paper work by senior staff on next table
D) Deliver the car with copy of paperwork

Ugh, did you at least get time to inspect your vehicle before accepting? (someone above claimed they tell you to sign before you get to inspect)
I was asked to sign before seeing it but was able to get things added after the fact once I had time to look it over. Found more today, called oakville who contacted international center staff for me and had it added.

Picked up mine this morning and drove it back to Ottawa. I was the first person through having got there super early from flight so maybe I didn't suffer from any compounded delays that seem to stack up later in the day?

I thought it was a great experience - it took around 45 mins from getting my initial look at the car to driving away. What sped it up for me is I'd read the sales contract and finance docs they emailed me yesterday so signing their printed versions was no big deal. I also knew all about the car having watched the Tesla videos and from sitting in the demo car (they have two) to figure out the nav for my trip back.

I suspect there are some "needier" customers (I don't mean that in a negative way) who are coming at the car totally fresh and I'd imagine they slow the process a lot - Tesla should probably have two streams of delivery - one for the know-it-alls who just want the car and another for the folks looking for explanations, a walkthrough and an "experience".

Anyways, car is fantastic, absolutely love it and had a great drive back. Also met multiple interested Model S owners while I was charging in Kingston (at 650km/h!) and my son got a wave back from a Model X driver here in Ottawa - what a friendly bunch Tesla owners are! :)

Good luck to everyone else picking up.

Good to hear everything went smoothly for you. What time was your appointment? Mine is at 10:15 on the 6th. Should be arriving in Toronto around 9am. Will be driving back to Ottawa as soon as everything is finalized. Should be fun!

I was 9am which I think is the first appointments of the day. Yeah the drive was good. I could probably have made it back without charging (car was predicting 10% left at the end) but I knew my kids would want the soccer run to be in the new car so I went via Kingston and juiced it for about $8. All very easy - the nav is great at integrating all the charge info and also did a good job diverting me around a 401 closure.

I got my car today (May 31). Had an appointment for 2 pm, showed up early (~1:30) and checked in. Had coffee, water, and waited around until about 3:45 pm when someone came over to get me. Showed me the car, took some pictures, then sat down for paperwork. They bring your car around outside after and you have to do a bit more waiting. I was in my car by 4:30 pm.

Just a note, at least for today, all cars came with the front license mount installed. I had specifically asked them not to earlier, but the person at check in told me to talk to the delivery specialist, but it was too late by then. DS then said she'd have it removed while we signed, but the person she asked said they weren't allowed to. I just wanted to get out, so I took it and will figure out how to remove it and place the mount I purchased on later. Unfortunately, when I got home I noticed a small defect in the paint on a part hidden on the trunk... I'll see what I can do. Overall, it wasn't a great experience, but not the worst. It was nice to sit around have coffee and talk to other excited Tesla soon-to-be owners. Bring snacks (there's also a cafe in Hall 1 that isn't too far), expect to wait, and talk to others. Enjoy your cars!

Yeah, they have the issue where you sign the paperwork and then it disappears for a while. Then they either lose it and you are waiting all day or it pops back up a couple hrs later. Would be nice if they just did the whole process at once so the paperwork doesn't have to leave your hands...
