Good to hear everything went smoothly for you. What time was your appointment? Mine is at 10:15 on the 6th. Should be arriving in Toronto around 9am. Will be driving back to Ottawa as soon as everything is finalized. Should be fun!
Mine is at 10am on the 6th! I'll be wearing my black Tesla tee. Come say hi. By any chance do you want to take my usb-c cable and give me a lightning cable?

Hello All,

Dropping my first post here as I think it is the best place to do so.

TLDR: Overall good experience for me, not for everyone I spoke to. Delays were mainly caused by MTO green plates making on site on time. Tesla could improve the process by taking some easy steps to identify owners who are waiting. As others have already said I forgot about any of the negative things after I got out on the road and drove down the 401 home to London. Amazing car and probably going to kill the BMW 3 series/Merc C/E class/Audi A3/4/5 and so on. It's unlike any car I have ever owned. Tried out Supercharger and it works awesome and is really cheap.

I took delivery yesterday May 31st and my experience was positive overall. I'm from London and I was tied up in traffic so was late for my 3:30PM App. by the time we found parking at the IC and made our way around to the Area 6 section where the Tesla event was taking place it was ~4:15PM.

I waited in line to fist register in so they confirmed I was now on site. They told me that things were running about 1hr late so my being 45 mins late was actually a good thing. I asked what I should do/where to wait etc and they told me just to stick around and they would come find me as they have taken down what I looked like (found this funny).

Funny thing was I got approached by a deliver specialist and he called me by Greg. I told him "I'm Ryan but if it speeds things up I'll be a Greg, guessing Greg also has a black golf shirt and grey shorts with White shoes hehe". My suggestion to Tesla would be to just to the old fashion name tags when you sign in so that they can easily find you and you can also more easily meet peaople remember names etc.

I had come with my family and my young boys were almost as excited as I was to see and finally get our hands on the TM3. They had an area for kids to sit at and kinda keep busy which was nice.

While waiting I chatted with other to-be TM3 owners that had come from Windsor, Guelph, and I think KW area. They had all been there from anywhere between 3,4, or 6+ hours due to delays in what was some issue with Green plates getting dropped off by the MTO.

I was kinda worried at this point as Telsa told me to expect 30mins and I guessed more like 1hr so I figured my wife and kids would be OK for the 5 Hrs of Driving (round trip) and the 1 Hr on site. So knowing things were delayed I was worried my boys would eventually meltdown out of boredom and so on and burn out any patience my amazing wife had left.

I got a tip from someone saying to try out my Tesla App as they may have attached my TM3. I loaded up the app and sure enough it started loading with my car info and a status of "Waking up". This was nice as I was able to kill the time waiting by setting up my Car climate control and various setting remotely and I tried going down the delivery area and flashing the lights but could not see my car in the rows that were view-able but could honk the horn and hear it was close by.

After about a 2hr wait I was called on my Cell by a DS named Ray (nice guy and like to Joke around) who took me and family to see the Car and have a look over it he also took some nice pictures for us in front of our new love. I then sat down with paper work and that was all fine and smooth.

He then told me to go over to the other side of the building had he would finish up paper work and get my key cards and finish up the delivery, which I apparently misunderstood as outside where my car was moved to. While waiting outside I looked over my care inside and out and found a few things that annoyed me enough to mention them. My charge door when closed would not sit flush with the tail light sticking out about maybe about an 8th of an inch (believe the issue to be the charge door being out of alignment and possibly that the rubber gasket that seals around the charge port being maybe a bit too thick. I also noticed the glove box did not close tight and straight in-line with the dash (was tight on the left edge but kinda loose on the right side hanging down about 1/4 inch from where it should have been.

By this time as went to locate Ray the DS and found out I was waiting in the wrong place (shame on me). Ray got my paper work to me and looked over the car and noted my concerns (also agreed with me that they were not acceptable) on the paper work and mentioned I could review with a service center and get the issues sorted out.

Sorry to all for the Wall of text (will put a TLDR at top), full points for those who made it through and could understand me not so great English heh.

As others have already said I forgot about any of the negative things after I got out on the road and drove down the 401 home to London. Amazing car fun and thrilling to drive with enough punch to stick you in the back of your seat with a quick stomp of the pedal.

I also made my first supercharger stop in Woodstock at the Quality inn and want to see how much it was to replace the charge I burned from International Centre to Woodstock (distance covered was ~130KM). THe charge time was about 20-25 minutes at a cost of about $5 so was amazed at how cheap the trip back was.

I can't upload a profile picture yet as I'm brand new member so not sure if I can put any on this post but will try.

My appointment yesterday was 4:45 pm (for reference- I live south of the QEW by the border of Mississauga/Oakville-so not too far). We headed out to the International Centre anticipating heavy traffic, but had a quick drive and arrived around 4:10. Checked in and was told they were running behind by about an hour and I would be called when it was my turn. My ride over was hanging out to ensure everything was good, so I sent him home and then figured I would catch up on a few emails. Turns out my delivery adviser sent me an e-mail at 4 pm telling me that unfortunately my car wasn't at the delivery location and wouldn't be ready until Monday. I called him back and we had a serious conversation about how unacceptable it was to be contacting me within an hour of my delivery time- especially after I had been in contact with them the night before and assured all was good. He advised me that a onsite rep would find me to discuss next steps.

I eventually found the rep, had my two boys walk out of earshot, and explained in no uncertain terms how I felt about the situation- after which I I was offered a ride home via Uber. I explained to him that wasn't going to suffice, and that he needed to provide me with a solution on transportation for the next few days and that since I wasn't going to book another day off work for their incompetence, he needed to figure out how to get the car to me. I made it clear that I wasn't leaving until this was sorted out, and if they couldn't get a resolution, we were going to keep going up the chain until we found someone that could. He of course wasn't authorized to do this but left to make calls.

10 minutes later. (around 5:30pm).. they found my car. It was being detailed and they "lost track of it"...I was actually dumbfounded. At any rate, I was quickly processed, and we were heading home by 6:15 (Apologies to those waiting longer that I may have line jumped). As far as I can tell, there is no link to the check-in desk and the processing area, so if you are experiencing a long wait or your car is a no show- it is quite possible that the peeps at the front have no idea what is happening in the rest of facility. (Side note- whoever hired the guy with blond hair, glasses and white button-down working the check in desk yesterday should be forced to drag around the stone of shame.. I watched, along with him, another worker look up my name and appointment on the screen, and verify that it was indeed me - at which point he turned, looked me in the eye and asked me my name and what time my appointment was.. Not sure who was more confused- me or his coworker.)

At any rate, the car itself was perfect and everything that I had hoped for. Judging by the giggles coming from my passengers last night, I can safely say it exceeded their expectations as well. No issues with my phone (Samsung S8), charging or driving so far. The only issue I did have was the licence plate did not have a sticker attached- there was a validation sticker, but the MTO missed putting it on the actual plate. They offered to go get one, but I figured it was easier for me to sort it out than wait for them to get it done. Note- If this happens, the validation sticker attached to the ownership can be used as proof of purchase if you get pulled over before you get a replacement- I wouldn't advise delaying that though.

Best of luck to all on their deliveries- I hope for all that they sort themselves out- the headaches of the process are in the rear-view mirror now, but it sure takes away from the day and adds a tone of unnecessary stress.. 100% worth it though

I picked up my car last night. I had a 5:30 appointment. Got there at 5pm and they told me they we about an 1 hr and 15 minutes behind. It was more like 2 hours :( The anticipation was understandable. I get it. They were behind because on MTO. I was fine with that.

Problem: When I finally got to do my walk around one of the ladies walked around the car with me and then left. No one did an interior walk through as I've seen others getting. When I asked who was supposed to help me they said they don't have time to deal with me anymore :( for a 74,000 car after tax I wish it was a better experience

Also, battery was only 48%

Yeah, I really felt that one person should have accompanied you through everything. Signed the paper work installed the plates and let you go.

Instead of them handing off papers and saying they will get back to you. Then getting lost.

I waited about 3 hours past my time, had some cosmetic issues, no interior walk around, and 23% charge. Pretty disappointed by the experience, despite friendly staff. But like everyone else said, once you drive off all of that melts away.

I test drove You You Xue's car, and the ride, handling, and everything is MUCH MUCH better in the newer builds.
