Inventory car in mytesla (Europe)

hi!

we ordered out inventory MX on the 19th of October. Promised delivery date was approx. end of November.
As no information was available in my tesla (only the initial: "Tesla delivery specialist will get in touch to arrange the payment and the delivery of your model X") I contacted the DS last week. He explained me that the delivery is scheduled for mid December and can shift either way and that he'll get in touch when our car (parts) reach Tilburg where European Teslas are assembled before they are being shipped to their final destination.

what I'd really like to know is how the timeline for European inventory cars looks like in my tesla. am I going to see when the car is loaded onto a boat? or is it only when it arrives in Europe?

thanks ;-)
Katie

From my experience:

Mytesla gave me Info in several steps:

Car is being built
Car is being shipped to Europe
Car is in Europe for prep
Car is shipped to Tesla Service where it will be handed over

There may have been more I missed.

Only in the last phase did the DC get in touch and talk about registration, payment and appointment for handing over the car.

In my case the estimated time was moved forward, not out. But that was before the quarter (in September, originally late Sep/Oct).

You will enjoy the car - congratulations.

Maybe someone in the know can educate us. From the experience of friends the inventory cars were pre-configured cars waiting to be sold, located somewhere in Europe. No parts that have to go through assembly in Tilburg.

But perhaps they are selling parts as inventory. Would seem odd as US spec inventory does not work for Europe. Looks to me like you are getting a custom build.

I have an inventory site that we use a lot in Norway. PM for link. I spoke with an employee at Tesla and he said he used my site because it was much easier to find cars. Some of the cars I get in the list is without location (just country). Tesla could inform me that this was actually cars that where build to inventory and therefore not necessarily “real inventory”. Cars with location is in transit to location or already at location.

this is making me somewhat nervous. my car is "in transit" now but what transit is it? is it on a truck or on a boat? if it's still on a truck no way I can expect the delivery end of November/December.

I don't know how it works in Austria, but I guess you will get a Message on MyTesla when it arrives in Tilburg? All Tesla's in Europa (not Norway) are assembled in Tilburg due to tax restrictions on cars "assembled in the USA". MyTesla usually updates to "InTransit" when the car is shipped from Freemont (either boat all the way or train to the east USA and then boat) and next time you get an update is when the car arrives in Tilburg.
