Folks -
When you custom order a Model S P100D, an "optional carbon fiber spoiler" is listed under Standard Equipment. If folks choose to add one in the configurator, it doesn't change the price of the car.
However, many current inventory 2018 P100D's don't include a carbon fiber spoiler. My question: if someone orders an inventory P100D, do they have the option of adding the carbon fiber spoiler without charge, since it's built in to the original price of the car? Or are they forced to pay the additional $1500 to buy it from Tesla's store? If that were the case, wouldn't that mean folks are penalized for buying an inventory P100D?
I called Tesla's sales phone number to ask, the but sales representative I spoke to seemed confused by the question. I asked an owner advisor, and he seemed to imply that Tesla charges extra to add a spoiler to an inventory P100D.
Screenshots of the configurator and and example inventory P100D (without spoiler) attached. Does anyone have experience with this or have thoughts?
