IPass install under nose cone

has anyone mounted the normal interior transponder behind the nose cone? Or does it have to be the license plate transponder?

Yes I have see posts where people have done that, and yes it works.

Mine works great - make sure you check the orientation arrows (if it has them) - mine has to be installed a certain direction to work (arrow point up)

Mine hasn't been working for a long time.. The blue light never blinks when I go through exit tolls.

Mine is attached to the very top edge of the windshield on my X, basically above the drivers left shoulder.
In my 3, I place it on the front edge of the top glass.
Basically the transponder needs a clear shot, straight up, if possible. I doubt that it would work at all in the frunk.

I'd be highly surprised if that worked. It was iffy both loose on the dash and between the seats. The I-Pass employee mounted mine himself to the passenger side of the rear view mirror and it's worked 100% of the time.
