iPhone 13 Pro (and Pro Max) -- does wireless charging work in Plaid / Refresh S?

Hey folks,

Seeing sporadic reports that the new iPhone 13 Pro models (regular and Pro Max) are not working in Tesla's newer car's wireless charging bays, due to the larger camera bump. There's also a report that it does work -- but only if you lay the phone screen-side-down.

Can any of you early Apple adopers confirm this specifically on the Model S Refresh?

I got the iPhone 13 Pro Max and tested it today in my MSLR Refresh. Works fine. I also have the Apple case on it as well, charged like my 12 Pro Max, that is to say no issues.

Yes, works just fine with leather case. Not with the mag safe wallet (that doesn’t work on any charger).

Another confirmation- got my plaid same day with the new phone. No issues what so ever, though I still had to remove my MagSafe wallet.

I have a Spigen clear case, and my iPhone 13 Pro Max will not charge normally on my 2021 Model 3. If I take the case off, it works. If I leave the case on and flip the phone upside down (face up, just opposite direction) - it does charge.

Would be nice to know exactly what cases are working for iPhone 13 Pro Max's in Teslas, without flipping them upside down.

Does your case perhaps not have Magsafe? That might be the issue.

Just tried my iPhone 13 pro max in my MY 2021 that o received last week and it works on the driver side with the silicone case on, but on the passenger side i if to flip upside down or just take off the case to charge it. Seems to be the camera in my opinion.

MS Refresh - no reported problems (that I've seen)

My 13 pro works in my refresh S front chargers (haven’t tried the rears) using the Apple leather case.

I have a 13 Pro Max with Apple’s clear case with MagSafe and it does not charge with the case on in my 2021 MY picked up in Aug.

I will have to try turning it upside down and see if that does the trick.

I am having this issue. Upside down it appears to have some contact but it’s not optimal.

Does your case perhaps not have Magsafe? That might be the issue.

The case does not have Magsafe, it's a "Spigen Ultra Hybrid". I do not believe Magsafe affects regular Qi charging. It only comes into play if you use Apple's magsafe accessories to hold onto the back of your device strongly, and to better align the coils for the faster "Magsafe" 15W charging.

Just tested on my new Model Y and it works with the apple silicon case as long a the right side of the phone is up against the center divider. Was going to use a Peel case but accidentally ordered the 13 pro size instead of pro max
