iPhone 14 Pro Max in Model Y

Hi. Early I know, and somewhat trivial but I’m upgrading to an iPhone 14 Pro soon. Not sure to go Max. Does an iPhone 13 Pro Max fit and charge ok in the Y wireless charger? Looks like the 14 will be slightly thicker, so this could cause problems.

When I test drove the Y it wouldn’t work “standing up” on the charger but it did charge if it was lying sideways.
Not sure if that was by design or not, and I expect the 14 Pro Max to be much the same.

My iPhone 13 Pro Max fits comfortably in my M3 charger. Charges absolutely fine

Edit: I have my phone in the official Apple case which adds a bit of thickness

Ah thanks. Seems an absurd consideration! But I do use the wireless charger far more than I anticipated.

13 Pro Max here with Apple leather case and it charges just fine in our Model Y (in both portrait and landscape orientations). It gets marginally warm and is not particularly a fast charge but it does work.

My 13 pro max will charge fine in a standard case, however I use a rugged case with built in screen protector for work and it won’t charge with that on

2022 Model Y and 14 pro max with Apple leather case charges pretty slow but always connects.

Putting a MagSafe charger on a Spigen magnetic mount as a solution.

Presuming it’s a facelift 3, so the same as the Y, how come some charge and some don’t?

Had a 12 Pro max and now a 14 Pro Max in an official case charges fine in a facelift M3 although in portrait and upright gets rather warm, I found if you turn it upside down in portrait it must be closer for the coils to match as it doesn't get as warm that way.

12 pro max here and it charges fine. I don’t use a case and I imagine the choice of case is important but size wise, no problems at all, loads of space

iPhone 14 Pro Max with Apple Silicon MagSafe case, 2020 Model 3 Performance with Jeda Wireless Charger.

Phone does not wirelessly charge with case on, it does wirelessly charge with case off.

I always find charging intermittent with a pro max phone, especially with a case. The air gap that the protruding cameras create doesn’t help.
