Iphone wont connect to my model 3

Does your iPhone Bluetooth settings show the Tesla as a Bluetooth device? It will be listed as something like Tesla Model 3.

I should have asked this first, but are you in the car when you try to pair your phone? You need to be.

If not that, do you have another phone or device you can use to see if the Tesla is visible to them (still need to be in the car for that)? Does your phone see other Bluetooth devices?

Yes in the car - I seem now to be connected to something called s8118d6c222de439c - do you have any idea what this is

That’s one of the Bluetooth devices for the phone key. Don’t connect to that one, it’s used automatically when you set up the phone key.

Not sure why you don’t see the Tesla Model 3 device. Is this a new problem? If a reboot doesn’t help, you might need a service visit.

Details always help. Which iPhone, which iOS, which version of software are you on in the car, etc. Have you tried another iPhone? Like an old one, a spare, your spouse's, etc. That'll help you isolate the issue, is it the phone or the car, etc.

Like an old one, a spare, your spouse's, etc. That'll help you isolate the issue, is it the phone or the car, etc. Try rebooting the car, try rebooting the phone, try repairing, etc. In general BT issues are rare, most people try to setup their phone for music and are not setting up their phone as a key, that sort of thing.

Just got Tesla Sat … Tried reboot twice - looks like service call needed. Also just received garage door opener that needs to be installed. Hopefully they can do both.

Are you trying to set up the key, or pair the bluetooth for the other functionality? If you're trying to pair to the phone, you need to be in the bluetooth page for the phone to be visible to the car.
