I also was told by someone who recently had their 75 kWh battery replaced by their insurance company that Tesla charged the insurance company $24,000 for an entire brand new 75 kWh battery (not swap or trade in)! Yet Tesla charges $23,000 to upgrade a 75D to a 100D.

Is that the one on Reddit? Since it was a parts replacement, they gave the 'used' battery to the owner!

Remember, the ability to skip superchargers is huge when the Model 3 arrives, since most superchargers will be swamped with model 3s++.

Someone on Reddit just claimed that Tesla still has low production rates on the 100 kWh battery pack and, thus, is not ready to stimulate demand for it.

The 100 pack is nearly a year old, if they are still having production volume issues, then it's a bad design. Keep the 18650's for 85kw base pack and develop the next gen pack with 2170's and up the capacity to 110kw.
