Is Cabin Overheat Protection working Correctly?

I had my Model S outside my garage In the sun. The outside air temperature was around 92°. The Model S Interior temperature reached 140 degrees. The cabin over heat protection turned on and the temperature decreased to 97° in about 40 seconds. The car temperature than rose again to 104° on the puppies OK O The cabin overhead protection turned on and the temperature decreased 97° in about 40 seconds. The car temperature than rose again to 104° In about 50 seconds And the overhead protection kicked on again and reduced the temp. To 97 degrees. This cycle continued every two minutes until I Put the car back in the garage.

Is this the normal operation of the cabin overheat protection?

Just purchased the model S a few weeks ago.

Any insite on this would be greatly appreciated.

Yep, that sounds right.

See the video below if you want to see how it worked in Europe, but 40C aka 104F is the correct trigger point.

also the second video below shows that the 3rd row seats, if you have them, aren't protected by the AC up front.

Thank you dhansen865 for the info. Where I live this cycling can go on for hours but it does not seem to drain the batteries to much
