I went from a “Late September” delivery estimate this morning to “By Oct 18” tonight. Any of you experience this tonight too?

Delivery date for a silver P- was Aug. 21. We were notified the car was damaged in transit and we'd have to wait for a new one. Shortly after the VIN disappeared on the order page, "Estimated Delivery by Late September" showed up. Since the Tesla site crashed and came back up, it now says "Est. Delivery by Oct.'18".

    A) Don't waste so many computer cycles by checking twice or more a day (watched pot?)
    B) Don't trust anything except when you get a vin.

Yes, he is mad at you.

JK. I have no idea what might have slowed or sped deliveries or production, except I know I was pushed up to the top of the pile when I ordered, and got my 3 quickly, mostly because I have owned Teslas for 6 years. They also know (at least Martin Eberhard knows) that I give ride and drives to everyone, anyone at the drop of a hat or a hint, and love showing it off inside and out even when it's charging and can't be moved. I hope you get your car soon, and I know Tesla is doing all they can to make sure you do, but everything takes time, and there always seem to be glitches.

If it makes you feel better, I was originally an Aug ‘18 - Oct ‘18 non-P AWD delivery. When they opened the floodgates to everyone, all you P buyers pushed me back to Sept ‘18 - Nov ‘18. Thanks Elon

Isn't "by Oct 18" really the same thing as "late September"? (It doesn't say by the end of October 18.)

My interpretation is that "by Oct 18" could mean "on or before Oct 31st, 2018".

We are assuming that the 18 is the year, it could be the day. So maybe he will get it by October 18th, 2018?

Well it's written as "Oct.'18", so it's probably the year :p

Don't trust anything EVEN if you have a VIN, Delivery Date AND signed MVPA/contract from both the sales manager and yourself.

My delivery date went from Aug. 30th to whoops Late September and now by Oct.

OH yeah, the original delivery date was 8/8 and I sold my car....

Wait, you guys don’t trust them to use a simple ERP system, but you are totally ok handing over your life to them with Autopilot? After all, what could go wrong ;)

*looks up from sending off $60,000+ to Tesla for a car I've never seen, on a variant I've never sat in, in a paint colour I've not seen in person on a Model 3 body, on a verbal assurance that "then I'll try schedule your delivery for mid or late September"*

    Huh, what'd you say?

Yeah, as much trust as is involved in this whole situation it's pretty easy to get burned if you're selling cars, turning in leases, etc. depending on a hard date for a [successful] delivery. :(

I just got the call! I'll be picking it up next Tuesday in Fremont! Anyone know how to arrange a factory tour while there?

Tours normally need to be booked weeks in advance.
