The 50% charge limit is a good idea, but I would take it for a drive once in awhile. Typically I have seen ultra low mileage cars that sat a lot turn into basket cases once driven again and those problems were not limited to engine.

the fact that he's plugged it in and covered it down means he's most likely not going to be there and asks if its ok for what he did to prepare for it

If you're not storing it long term, the car should be fine. Good recommendation to set the charge limit to 50%.

I stored my track motorcycle for ~7 months out of the year with nothing other than a battery tender keeping it company and it was fine.
