is it possible to swap my 2020 Model 3's center console for the updated 2021 version?

I'm not looking to make any other changes, this is purely for cosmetic purposes since the 2020 center console with its piano black trays is very ugly.

Yes it’s been discussed if you search. Someone said cost is around $900. If you don’t like piano black then wrap it.

The people talking about doing this also have to take into account the card reader (for the keycard that starts the car) is also in that center console, and has to be dealt with. OP there are some threads here on this as said, but its not just a "quick cosmetic change". You are much better off wrapping your current center console than trying to do this.

If your only problem with it is the piano black then just wrap it like everyone else does.

Me personally - I think the OG console looks better simply because it looks so unconventional. The 2021 one looks like it incorporates better materials (not seen/felt in person), but it has more of a "just another car" look to it. The OG console, when the lids are closed, looks properly space age (piano black notwithstanding).

Wrap that thing! I wrapped mine at delivery. Satin white to match the white interior - looks way better.
