Is it safe to view the solar eclipse through the Model S sunroof?
It is not. Unless you have proper eyewear, it's not worth the risk to look through anything at the eclipse.
The pano roof lets in about 2% of visible light. Approved eclipse glasses let in 0.003 percent. So that's about 600 times more light than recommended.
If you decide to do it, let us know how it turned out. You might need someone to help you type your next post, of course.
