Interesting. My Y is less than $20 more to insure for six months than the 13 year old BMW 3 series worth $4000 that I traded in. USAA.

Mine WAS like that. I had a Jeep Grand Cherokee and when I got my insurance from Progressive it was only about $20 more per month. But... then the renewal "offer" came in which raised the insurance about another $50/mo. Clean driving record, garage, all the stuff. I then angrily shopped for cheaper, and nobody else even came close to the renewal offer.

I forget the specifics as Cali had insurance rebates due to the pandemic, but I think I saw something similar when I got my Tesla.

Also, I'm with Tesla insurance and about to renew again at 1 year.

- New renewal rate: $109/month
