Is Tesla Service Bulletin 1816010 Proactive?

I remember back when the Model S battery contactors we’re going bad, Tesla arranged service appointments to proactively replace them.

I’m wondering if the same is true of the HV wire bond issue? Has Tesla contacted any owners regarding this to schedule HV battery replacement?

I have two Model 3s with May and August 2018 build dates. Based on the dates in the SB my 3s could be affected.

So while they were at it they just casually replaced your HV Battery?

What were your rated miles at 100%, before and after?

All they did was to add some screws. It took time, as in the Model 3 they have to remove a lot to get to the location. Adding screws isn't going to change the range.

Perhaps your experience is not relevant to the referenced TSB then? The question was about the TSB where the solution is:

"Replace HV Battery Due To Missing Battery Cell Wire Bonds"

Evidently not, but they did increase the main connector bonds.

So here's a question, somewhat casually related ...

In the TSB, there are two different part revisions for AWD batteries - P/N 1137375-01, revision K and revision J. Revision K's description says "KELVIN", and Revision J says "NONKLVN"...

Anyone know what KELVIN is the code name for? Sounds like a project code or some such. Given that it's not a different P/N, just a revision, I'm curious about that!

Mine was built smack in the midst of that range: July 2018. Tesla hasn't proactively reached out to us. This thread is the first I heard of the issue. Now I'm curious.

Since it does not appear to be a safety recall, NHTSA may not have it.

Yeah, if they just added screws then it must have been another service bulletin they were addressing. This particular bulletin requires complete replacement of the HV battery.
