Is there a way to activate the front camera when parking?

What front camera? You mean the B-pillar ones? Nope. All the cameras are designed for autonomous use. We all wish there was a front bumper camera and side user cameras and a 360 view.
There is a way to add a camera for this purpose and using a wireless switching device be able to view it on the 17” screen. There is a thread floating around here that gives all the info, and forum members are selling the switch etc.

Your answer is probably correct for OP’s situation. If OP has installed a front parking camera then the links above will get him support on displaying the feed on the screen.
actually I thought that the car had front cameras, after all, it must be using something to see the lines on the road when driving on AP

The front cameras are right below your rearview mirror so they are pointless for parking.
Tesla's don't have a front parking camera like other cars do.
What you need for ‘front parking’ is a camera mounted in the front bumper area, like the rear one. See the linked thread above for info on a DIY project for such a camera.
Tesla took the route of installing camera solely for autonomous use and not for driver use, so we are stuck with ultrasonics for parking. They work but not as well as cameras. Especially if you like the 360 view many cars have, hard to do when there aren’t any cameras right on the front of the car.
