Same here. Need to send a PM. I guess I'll just check for the functionality after each post.
Please note that if you are a business or conducting any commercial activity (beyond selling a single used personal item), then you are not permitted to use Conversations/Direct-Messaging to contact other members for such purposes, unless you first become an approved Vendor.
This is one of the reasons we limit the ability for new members to send such messages, as some people would (and have in the past) come on here to spam other users with messages relating to products/services they offer.

Just for completeness, after 5 posts I was able to:
- Send a PM via "Start Conversation"
- Like posts
- Edit my own posts
