Just don't "send" them the wrong way (warnings/info about profile posts being not being private conversations?) unless you want your messages to be available to anyone who comes here. You don't even need to be logged in or have an account to see those.

Just for completeness, after 5 posts I was able to:

• Send a PM via "Start Conversation"
• Like posts
• Edit my own posts

I'm at 10 and still don't have functionality... do i just need to wait a day?

I must say that this is a very annoying feature! Why make people post stuff? I want to ask someone for help and because my post count is too low I am not able? And nobody seems to know what you need to do to be able to direct message....

Seems to me that this needs to be changed or make it very clear what the rules are.
