Is there a way to send another forum member a private message?

Sorry if this is a dumb question but I am new. Is there a way to private message another member?

Just click on the members name. A box will appear at the top of the page with a link to "Start a Conversation". Just a different name for a PM.

Since you are a brand new member, there are probably restrictions on your ability to send private messages.

Easy example - You're buying an item I sell in the marketplace; we proceeded to exchange emails - do you think broadcasting this in a thread is appropriate?

Throwing my hat in here - I understand the spam limitation and I'm sure it works well, but at least give some info. I spent a few minutes looking around at profiles/conversation pages in confusion before googling it (since there's no mention in any sticky I saw) and I still don't actually know how many posts before I can PM. Just wanted to buy someone's floor mats...

If the sale is posted in a thread, openly request that the OP (the original poster) send you a PM. I think that might work. And, if you are looking for a white 2013 S85 in Fullerton in the $33K range. Respond to this thread.
