I found a listing on Craigslist (I know...sketchy, but I was bored at work) and I came across a 2015 P85D with 36K miles for $47,500. I know, seems too good to be true. However, I figured why not message? The worst thing that happens is I get an email back asking me to wire money or something. Well, I did get an email back like this:
Hi, I am unable to see your message. If you are interested in my Tesla please email me using my work email below to discuss further.

So, I proceeded to email his Virgin Atlantic email. Here is what I said:
I emailed several people about their cars. Are you selling the 2015 P85D?
If so, just a few questions for you. Is the car’s title clean (i.e. not rebuilt)? Is the car still under warranty? Have you had any major work done to it while it had been under warranty? Does it come from a smoke-free, pet-free home? Do you have the option of purchasing the extended warranty? How many rated miles will it travel when charged to 100%?

I waited for one day and received this response:
Hi, the Tesla is still available for $47,500. It has 36,082 miles, clean title, no accidents and no money owing on it, and I recently had it inspected by the specialists from National Auto Inspections LLC and has been rated in excellent condition. I have attached both the AutoCheck Report and the Inspection Report to this email for you.
I am a pilot and I just got a very good contract with Virgin Atlantic in London and I need the money for an advance on a house here in UK, that's why I am in a hurry to sell it.
I have left the vehicle there in US at a freight company, with all the paperwork (title signed by me, keys, service records, etc) so they can handle everything for me.

In that email, he also attached a Carchex and Autocheck inspection form that I uploaded to this thread. So, I need your help. This seems like a lot of effort to be a scam, but I imagine people will do a lot of things for almost $50K. Moreover, I searched for Virgin's email handle and saw several different ones, none of which matched this one. I guess I am struggling with why a fully loaded P85D would only be $47,500 if this wasn't a scam. Perhaps this person did need to leave immediately for their job and needs to sell it fast. However, at $60K, the car will still sell fast.
With all that said, I haven't emailed the individual back yet. My wife doesn't think it is a scam, but I am fairly certain it is. Should I proceed with extreme caution? Thanks for your time.
