Is undercoat protection necessary on a Tesla?

Living in Sendai and going snowboarding often during winter season, I've always been told to add undercoat protection to my cars to protect it from snow, ice, water, sand, sea salt etc etc.

Is this at all necessary on Teslas?

I've read on the other community forums that the underside of the Model S and X are completely covered by a solid sheet of metal (steel, aluminum, some titanium, with a plastic coating I believe).

So it should be protected from rust I believe?

I just wanted to check with other Tesla owners here in Japan.

    Thanks very much.

    I haven't heard such a thing, so no, I don't think so.
