We purchased the Yakima FullSwing bike rack a couple days ago because we need to carry 2 adult + 2 kid bikes. The total weight of the bikes is ~118 lbs. The bike rack is listed at 56 lbs. We are over the Tesla Model Y limit by 14 lbs.
Never having owned or used a hanging bike rack before, can someone tell me how much bounce or wobble is normal when you drive on roads with a fully loaded rack (Tesla or non-Tesla)? It's a little freaky to see so much movement in the rear camera, even at 35 mph or less on local streets. We would love to take this on longer trips but worried about whether this is safe. Would the Thule Apex XT Swing 4-bike perform similarly?
