Vin'd 4/2. Called ISA twice on 4/11, he picked up the 2nd time and said he was about to call me. Took my 3rd party loan info. Called me back 4/12, scheduled delivery in Dedham MA for 4/27. Said car in transit, that he thinks its a conservative estimate, and would call if it gets here sooner.

VIN'd on 4/11 never told who my ISA was so I called in and was told she'll call within the next two days. I asked if delivery was likely by the end of the month (also to Dedham) and she said it was likely. Maybe I'll see you there! Except my Red has Sport wheels so hope they don't mix up our cars!

Interesting... I figured since I've had a VIN assigned for a week (res. 4/6, VIN 4/9) I'd give Tesla a call to see the status of my order. I'll be in Africa for about the next two weeks starting Wednesday and would rather not try to arrange a vehicle delivery over satphone.

The rep said it was good that I called, because someone new would have to be assigned to my order. It sounds like they have M3 specialists and S/X sales people and that I had somehow been assigned to the second. They'll be reaching out today or tomorrow. Has anyone else seen something like this?

Not to make you guys more anxious, but I received my VIN Friday morning and the ISA called me that evening. I had already completed the required documentation and it is the easiest of deals for them -- cash purchase, no trade-in. Delivery is scheduled for this Thursday. Clearly the configuration I chose was a match for a vehicle already manufactured. Silver, aero wheels, EAP.

Reporting a second ISA contact today. It wasn’t completely unsolicited as she was responding to my email but I am happy to report that my original target of 5/2 for the car getting to my delivery center in PA has been moved UP! ....to 4/28 which is a Saturday but I wouldn’t be able to take delivery of it until the following Monday 4/30. Still great news!
So happy to hear things moving to the good rather than the other way...knocking on wood of course.

How long does it take from loan app to delivery? Thinking about applying through Tesla tonight instead of looking around at credit unions this week for rates. Do you think I could take delivery this weekend in SoCal if I finish the loan app tonight? Not trading in a car either. If it takes two week then I may shop around since I can only take delivery on a weekend.

Call your ISA and ask him or her when the earliest weekend delivery date is. Because you’re picking up from SoCal, there are additional logistics required to get your car down there. If your car is already down there, it’s a different story.

Definitely figure out who you’re going to finance with, as some creditors require additional documents before handing you a check. It takes Tesla a few days to produce those documents (if needed).

Currently held up by the trade-in process. Pics sent Saturday, waiting to see what they offer at which point I'll decide between Vroom, Carvana, or Tesla.

I heard some of the delay here is around them trying to decide whether they're going to extend out 14-day trade offers to 30-day trade offers to deal with logistics taking longer than it has in the past (between VIN assignment and delivery).

I only have until the 22st on Carvana, 23rd on Vroom (a week deadline). I hope they get on with it! I've heard some folks are pleasantly surprised by their Tesla offers, and it would be more convenient to trade it with Tesla if the offer is within, say, $500 of the others.
