Well, I have the car now, theoretically, but I'm waiting for them to fix a paint chip, which the delivery assistant said could take 2 more weeks due to using a 3rd party, so April 26 (official delivery) may become May 10. Then, I'll be taking it for an Xpel and ceramic coating combination, which will mean another week without it. So a config of March 22 will be extending out to nearly 2 months before I can actually drive it.

Well, if I drive it back home, I might as well forget about it because the insects and rocks will have done a number on it after 2 hours in the desert at highway speeds. How long does it need to be cured before being encapsulated?

For spray paint, I've read anywhere from 24 hours to two weeks. If it's on the latter end, the hell with trying to protect the paint. Wasn't meant to be. I gave my 1-star quality rating on the survey tonight, still don't have the car and never should have accepted the VIN apparently.

Well, it finally happened. My ISA called and I am set for a possible Saturday (1700) delivery appointment, with the potential to push it to Monday if Saturday is just too hectic at the center. Just in time too since my rental ran out, I am up against the clock for my loan/rate and I am driving a gas guzzling truck that I have to fill up every two days (I drive 56 miles one way to work). Now, if only FedEx would call me to say they found my package that I sent to the insurance company's wreck center, that would be awesome. I had to mail in my registration but then I find out after the fact I could have just dropped it off /sigh.

When you say drop off registration, are you talking about Model 3?
If so, where could you have dropped it off?
Thanks

Well, refreshing my Tesla account page relentlessly finally paid off this morning.

Config 4/6
VIN 5/1 by 8am 196xx White Aero
5/1 Was called and emailed by 3pm
Loan and all approved by 5pm.
5/22 delivers.

Super smooth and easy. Pleasant even!

Lucky! I got my VIN Saturday, but still haven’t heard anything. I did call in and gave them my phone number since I’m an alternate contact on the account. Hoping I hear from her tomorrow!

I hope you hear from Tesla soon...
I wasn't as fortunate as it took me 2 weeks after receiving my VIN before anyone contacted me! It is possible that I got stuck in the shutdown somehow? Just a friendly reminder that it can sometimes take a bit.

I mean the title for my old car. I wrecked my 'stang 2 weeks ago and it was deemed a total loss so my insurance is gonna auction it for parts. I need to get my vehicle registration to the auction house in order to get the settlement. They are about 20 or so minutes from my house.

I just got my VIN this morning -- what's the word on the "norm" for being contacted by Tesla? I'm seeing anywhere from same day to about two weeks. Also, I'm seeing two different acronyms, ISA and DS. DS is Delivery Specialist, what's ISA?

'Inside Sales Advisor' is what I remember hearing it is short for. I believe they are the first ones to contact you to schedule the delivery, most common feedback is to expect a call from a Las Vegas area code. The delivery specialist is likely a reference to the store employee that actually interacts with you and hands you over the key (card in this case). Good luck!

Pretty sure you're right... initial contact from an ISA can be same day to about 2 weeks from VIN assignment... your configuration and location are likely the key factors.

ISA = Inside Sales Advisor. My ISA is located in Fremont (NorCal) and I'll be picking up my car at Marina Del Rey (SoCal).
