I switched to my wife's iPhone 4 after the Sony Bloggie battery died. My camera work is awful, but at least you can hear what George says better on the iPhone: http://youtu.be/LN52Lfkxc7M?hd=1 Not much here... In the beginning, he's talking to another Tesla employee about which future Model S' to put where in the garage: "white, then the performance, then black interior with red piping". The only questions here are @ 2:05 about increasing max. speed on range estimator to 75 mph; @ 3:10 about high contrast tan - black interior; "I'm about making people smile. The designers and the engineers make the car handle well enough that when I get in it it makes me smile." @ 4:00 about the chrome stripe under the doors. @ 4:40 G.B. mentions the console again. Model S Weekend at Santana Row - 4 Signature Betas on display! Model S Design Studio will be up on March 17th. A few extra surprises?!
Hmm -- take a look at the Events calendar. All the Beta tours end before March 15. Are they pulling the white Beta from DC, the Red beta from Europe, and adding it to the black Beta already at Santana Row? Will the only new car be the silver? Or will all four cars be Beta-2s?
The original Red one's in Geneva till the 18th: Geneva Motor Show | Events | Tesla Motors So, am thinking all 4 are new Beta-2s to make a real splash!
Crap. Does that mean I should go sown to the bay area next weekend? The wife does want to stop by Macy's or somewhere that actually sells 'real' clothes. The parents always like a visit too, but honestly, the only reason I want to be back in the Bay area now is 4 Tesla! Sorry parents and people who enjoy crowded roads and impolite people. Would someone give me a quick ride in a roadster perhaps? I should have probably asked before the factory event but I was plenty excited to see the factory.
If not at Santana Row (after checking out the 4 Betas and the Design Studio), given that you are a Model S res holder, you can surely get a test drive even with the leftover Roadster(s) at the Menlo Park store. Lookup the store manager, Neil Joseph ([email protected]), there - a really nice guy.
That would be super, GG -- also one can hope that they have set up each car with a different interior combo, e.g.: Sig Red + white leather + carbon fiber Black + tan leather + banana leaf Pearl White + black leather + pano black Silver+ white leather + lacewood
There's no way they're squeezing 4 cars into that store, so I bet they are going to be in the charging area in the back. Hopefully they will let us see the interiors. Is Beta-2 the same as Release Candidate?
Hi everyone... The Black one is the current Santana Row beta. The Red and White ones are newer betas (not the Red one from Geneva or the White one currently on the east coast). The Silver one is coming back from some winter video driving in Minneapolis. Stay tuned...there's more to this event than meets the eye See you there. GeorgeB
I would expect not, otherwise they would say so. The stores do need display cars so it makes sense to run some cars down the production line....hopefully at least one for each store. It makes sense to expect that all stores would be likely to receive a display car soon (this month?).
Oh, what a tease George!! I hate being stuck out here in the middle of nowhere unable to even get a first hand look at 1 car so much as 4 different colors. Looking forward to the updates.
I'm now wishing I lived on the West Coast to be able to drive by Tesla daily to see what's happening or to stop at the local store. My local store is 300 miles away (Cincinnati or Columbus, Ohio would be a great place for the next Tesla store! hint hint GeorgeB). Can't wait to see the design studio. I've been checking daily for the last week hoping to see it before the rush.
lolwut, now I'm intrigued!! I was hoping all 4 were newer Betas since they might have tuned the interior a bit. If 2 a the older ones I wonder if they are just there to show the difference and change from Beta to RC.
