-Musk was on the 9.9 in Japan to deliver the first models to their owners. So only 3 weeks passed.
-Its known that they wanted to push the Q3 sales numbers by having no cars on the boats by the end of Q3 so Production comes close to sales. therefore the amount of cars shipped to japan was small.
-Given the aggressive Supercharger buildout in Japan I would assume Tesla did their homework on market demand.
-Waiting time is still 3-4 Months after order placed.
-Looking at their China rollout strategy its evident that they wait for the SC network to proper rollout until they start shipping big quantities to a market. Since they don't have any demand problems they can let other markets wait with deliveries to increase the customers experience.
