JB Straubel NY Times Interview

I was shocked this afternoon to see this interview with JB in today's NY Times Week in Review.

They do this feature every Sunday with a unique individual, often an artist or writer. This was a pleasant surprise to see someone who I was familiar with in this space, and a great jacket he has on!

I’ve worked out an efficient way to heat water — using a wood gasification boiler — ..... It’s half built. I doubt it will ever be 100 percent done because I think I enjoy the process of building it maybe more than actually having it.

I'm thankful, this inclination has not applied to Straubel's Tesla work.

Good article, interesting that he mentioned he's reading the Steve Jobs biography as I see a lot of parallels between the Apple approach and Tesla approach to disrupting an industry.

Yes, and no.

I definitely like that he finishes the cars, or the whole team does.

I do really like what he is getting at here - the joy of the process! Not just the owning or having something.

I also really liked this quote
