After 20 minutes Jerome talked about a leasing programme for Germany. And he said someting about two weeks. Can we expect an announcement about a leasing programme for German customers in about two weeks?

Amusing article in Automotive News, contrasting Tesla's shoestring press conference to Ford's mega-produced Aluminum F-150 press conference. It sounds sort of anti-Tesla slanted at times, but the author concludes that Tesla's is winning by not following the conventional wisdom in the automotive industry. It may be behind a pay wall, but automotive news has a week of free viewing for the Detroit show.

All the wrong things pay off for Tesla

It is hard to define the article as pro or anti-Tesla, GSP, but it makes it quite clear that Tesla plays by its own set of rules with complete disregard for what any other auto mfg is doing. You almost have to feel badly for a company like Ford that has to spend that kind of money and work that hard convincing people to buy their product. Just think how many SuperCharger Stations they could have built with those millions.

    From the article:

That makes a bit more sense now. It was little reckless using the word "reckless" in his talk....

If Ford spent just half of their annual advertising budget (excess of $4b) they could install superchargers in every city/town in America. And with a good EV just think how they could upset the automobile industry. Not going to happen anytime soon though:smile:

"Wreckless growth" would have been amusing. We're probably need tow-hitch-dodging-technology, parking sensors, lane assist, ACC, etc. on all newly produced cars for that to be likely though.
