I asked this a few years ago, but I want to see if anyone has figured it out since then. When going from an area of no coverage to one with excellent coverage, the car still thinks there's no coverage. I can drive right by a tower, it still shows zero bars.

Is there any way to tell the car to scan for coverage? I'd bet that rebooting would work, but I don't like driving with a black screen.

Just because you see a tower does not mean that it is an AT&T tower that Tesla uses.
Very true, but when I go past that tower from the other direction, I have five bars, and the car is happy. IOW, get there from region of zero coverage, car doesn't see it. Get there from area with coverage, car sees it. Conclusion: car has coverage but doesn't "realize" it.
