Have been for my new TESLA X (100D, Midnight Silver, 5 seat, Premium Black interior, 20" silver wheels) since early May and just got it delivered today at the Buena Park, CA SC. Like a kid waiting for Christmas to arrive. Two flaws on delivery which will require a servioce center visit already. #1 Hood is way off center with driver side gap > passenger side so that the body lines are off as well. #2 Large dent on the right FWD maybe from transport? Hopefully a good dent person can get it and it wont need a repaintout.Delivery Specialist consulted with service who said they would take care of it in a few weeks. Other than that car is awesome. Drives better than any other ICE SUV I have driven (including my wifes RR).:)

Great to hear. I see you are new to Tesla and hope your car brings you as much joy as mine has over the past year.

Welcome to the fam!

Other X owners, including myself, have also felt some degree of excitement and disappointment on pickup for issues of varying severity. From what I've read the past couple of years, and also from my own experience, Tesla satisfactorily addressed each concern.

May you and your wife drive countless joyous miles together in your X! Cheers.

I feel your pain, my MX Deep Blue Metallic was delivered at the Costa Mesa SC yesterday. This is my third Tesla, we have been fortunate enough to own all three, we sold the MS and kept the M3 and now the MX. I decided to have the entire car wrapped. Given that I asked the shop doing the wrapping to come to the Delivery and walk the car with me. We found 2 pin size chips on passenger door and about 6 fish eyes around the car. While tesla was willing to fix all the items, we decided against at this time, as the wrap would protect it and if we decided to have tesla repair the nicks and fish eyes, it would be 30 days before we saw the car again plus another 30 days of the car curing due to repaint of areas before wrap could be applied. Plus the fact, factory paint is better than any repaint.
I told tesla that, given we paid $1,250 for transportation, the cars should be better cared for or at least fulling wrapped in the plastic coating prior to shipping. I was told they only wrap the front hood and sides and the rear hatch, never the side doors, and now I have chips in my paint because of it. If you buy and Audi or Maserati they ship the cars with full covers.

Thanks for the input from fellow Tesla owners. I'm pretty sure SC will handle it. Now that I had more time to go over the car (got it late yesterday afternoon), I've found another issue. On both FWD the rear seal on top in the back is tucked under the glass about 50% of the length. Anyone else have this problem? Another thing I'll have to have fixed by the SC. Still loving the car though.

Hey i also got my deep blue metallic X delivered same day as you in costa mesa. So did you refuse delivery? Get a refund?

Mine had misaligned trim and a few small scratches but no obvious dings nor chips like yours. Maybe i need to look closer.

Didn’t know the X would drive better than a Rolls Royce. Impressive!

So after much discussion at tesla on day of pick up we decided to take delivery:
1) Because the loan rate as 2.49 through June 15th and if i refused the car the rate would have been 3.99
2) Tesla said they would have it repaired which meant sanding area and spot repaint with a clear coat of entire door. This would have been a 60-90 process due to 2-3 week wait to get into European Auto plus paint cure time before I could PPF the car
3) The best paint is factory paint. I had the paint depth tested and it came in at 4.8-5.4 mils. That is really good. So no way to confirm a repaint would be as good as factory depth.
given those 3 reasons I took delievery

Yes, I had the same issue. The seal you are referring to is purely cosmetic and is not utilized to keep out the elements. The seals in side the door serve that purpose.

I had some imperfections during my delivery and the delivery specialist made notes and everything was taken care of my first sc visit. Congrats on the awesome vehicle!

My feeling is Tesla needs to hire a bunch more QA people at the factory. Cars are leaving with issues that should have been caught and fixed at the factory. And handling these are just jamming up the Service Centers.
They need people who have expertise in the Lean production model that is used byToyota - the greatest company in producing high quality cars.....More real Quality assurance needed...
