Just placed CPO 2015 85 model

Hey guys, with such a long time of looking, we've finally made an order of CPO (or non-CPO at this moment) 2015 85 red model.

the main reason that we ordered this one is because we could pick this up at our local tesla center (Raleigh, NC), which is almost impossible at the current (non)CPO program.

I'm going to post how this process goes starting day 1 (which is TODAY, 10/25/2018)

Here is the photos I received today, and with my experience of looking over 30+ cars photos, it looks almost flawless.

thanks guys! I'm extremely happy to join the family. It's been my dream to own a tesla.

I'm curious when the delivery specialist will be reaching out to you. I put down my deposit yesterday morning. Since I'm financing through Tesla they were quick to reach out and get that completed (within 2 hours.) Since then, I haven't heard anything and can't get my "used car specialist" or whatever they are called to respond.

I read somewhere we have 7 days to pick up the car so I was hoping this would move along quickly.

My advisor (who I've been spoken since August) told me that I could pick up the car as early as 7 days from now.
But I'm trying not to use Tesla loan since they are higher than others (i.e., credit unions). Yes, I haven't heard anything since the deposit was completed.

I'll keep everything updated and post here.

I'm looking as well but my advisor said it needed to be picked up within 7 days of deposit. But I've got a hectic schedule and can't be told 1 day ahead of time I need to pick up... so interested to see your progress within the next few days on exactly how long it takes.

Can you pick up on Saturdays?

They don't strictly adhere to the 7 day rule as far as I can tell. They certainly want it off their lot sooner rather than later, but if you let them know your situation they'll work with you. The service centers are pretty flexible, especially with pickup times. You'll have to book an appointment, which will be done by your SA. Saturdays are the busiest days. I got the last appointment on a Friday when I picked my car up. The SC officially closes at 7pm, but my appointment time was at 7pm. My train was running late, so I called the SC to let them know. They were ok with that, and even picked me up from the train station. Don't hesitate to reach out to them directly once you have an appointment scheduled.

I'm about to update but it's still not clear to me at this moment. My understanding of 7 days are once the car is ready to be delivered, it can be stayed at the lot for 7 days. Mine is clearly not in that stage yet (still on delivering from other location to my pick up spot). No we won't pick this up on Saturday.

I'll be watching this thread

Thanks! I'll keep this posted.

Yes, I'm in weird situation. I have a 9 day long conferences+trip starting 11/7, so I either must pick the car up by then (and drive for fun little bit before leave!) or after trip. If I have a choice, I would like to pick up after the trip.

Day 2

Contacted advisor in the early morning. He advised me to get a Tesla loan other than a full cash payment. But I declined and received a quote from other credit unions with 3.29% APR for 60 months (it is relatively higher cause getting the loan for a used car instead of a new one). Not sure if I should match this to lightstream for 0.1% lower adjustment, then match again to my primary bank company (USAA).

Called insurance company to have a quote as well, and it was easy and smooth. They (USAA in my case) want the exact delivery date so that they can provide me the coverage and policy number. At this moment, I only have a quote. The premium is indeed 1.5 times higher than my 2014 Prius.

Updated driver licenses on the Tesla account. Surprised that it's already there for me! (even with a referral code, haha).

Advisor called and gave me a quote of my used Prius. Slightly lower than I expected so I went to the CarMax and got a better appraisal (which also counted all the wear and tear + minor damage on the door + stain on front seats). Advisor told me to do so, and Tesla will match this more likely.

Like I mentioned earlier, I either can pick up the car before 11/7 OR after 11/16. So it is a somewhat strange time to work with 7-day window.

Do you mind DM'ing me if you don't want to say in public how much your insurance is?

But he was just checking the info that I gave to the adviser again. I responded with better info but no response.
Other than that, no particular update.

Same boat, 5 of 6 tasks complete. Day 4 and no actual discussion of dates yet. As far as I can tell I've done everything I'm supposed to do.

Cautiously optimistic that I can get it late next week. HPWC ordered and tracking number says it will be here Tuesday. Best I can do is a 50A setup, electrician is on standby as he wants the car to be here so we can do perfect alignment. I'll be using a tool balancer and allowing it to retract from the ceiling.

thanks for an update on yours. Unfortunately our garage is quite small (and model S is LARGE), I'm not even sure if it fits our garage. I measured 196 inches at my garage and it is slightly over the limit. I have some free EV chargers available around home, so probably I'll utilize them (and Supercharger on its way to 10 min distance!)

Anyways, good luck to you!

I have one concern but not sure if it's normal or not. Does this blue light on the screen seem normal to you guys? I didn't catch it cause I was primarily focused on the exterior and interior part but not the screen.

If it's not normal, do you think it could be fixed under CPO warranty?

Thank you.

That blueish tint is most likely that the camera that took the picture has the daylight setting wrong, I don't think your car will have the blueish tint on the screen- notice even the IC has the blueish tint.

FWIW, we are happy with our CPO 2015 that we picked up in July- only real issue getting it was getting the title, it was a lease return and the original lessor had the title still took 71 days to get our plates.

Hope it all works out for your delivery

I'm glad to hear that everything other than title works fine for you! thanks for your input as well. I hope it's just photographer's phone issue.

Looks like a white balance issue with the camera.

Yes, I hope so too. I'll definitely update on this :)
Thanks for your reply.
