None of this is surprising. Tesla has built up a significant inventory of RWD cars that they've been holding back to maximize the federal tax credit. They're now matching RWD orders against available inventory, some of which is already at the east coast depot in Alabama. If you want a RWD car, now is the time to order. Factory capacity is now shifting to AWD, so once the RWD inventory dries up, RWD orders will be back to a multi-month delivery window.
