Clean car fax but has just those 2 marks on front and back, holing cost 1k to repair ? Inside looked perfect but we’ll see. 4 year warranty.

Bottom line, I think your choice to purchase from Tesla rather than a 3'd party is a smart choice.

Remember, most cars are painted to keep the steel from rusting. Aluminum typically does a bit better. You live in SF, Ca., so salt air will do some damage to raw Aluminum, but not like steel. You however are showing defects in PLASTIC, if I read your images properly. If you park on the street you will get lots more of those, so you should just live with it IMHO.

Bodywork is EXPENSIVE, so I suggest if you buy a car with defects you just live with it. To fix those two things will cost upwards of $2500, including blending and such, because touch up never works so the entire fascia needs to be painted. That is, assuming you purchase work at a proper Tesla certified shoppe. [I would NEVER do work outside of a Tesla certified shoppe because these cars and paint codes and such are finnicky at best.] Plastic work does not require a Tesla shoppe, per se, BUT color match will be better if you go to a Tesla shoppe.

Let me end by saying that if YOU are happy then anything we have to offer is less important.

I see you PM'ed me about this same car, so this is my answer.

I hope you enjoy your new vehicle.

Best,

T

Ramting

I actually had put $100 down couple weeks back On this same car and decided to pass because the sales advisor informed me that there was a scratch on the back trunk window and it would not be covered under warranty and also a authorized body shop from tesla quoted me $6k to do the repairs on the paint since it’s pearl white there Was paint issues on the hood, trunk door, front and rear bumper. Granted that was when it was 71k but at 60k might be better deal since you can spend the extra to repair it but it wasn’t worth it for me to get all the repairs since I know pearl white can never be perfectly matched

Do you have any pictures you can show me ? They told me it got never got sold before?

I believe if you look at the picture showing the trunk you can see on the window there is a scratch there. They told me it’s sold as is and anything that was cosmetic was my issue and anything mechanical or electrical would be covered under warranty. At the end of the day I just didn’t want to spend all that money to fix it and not have the paint be perfect. I asked multiple body shops l authorized by Tesla in SoCal and they all quoted me very high prices. Like the others said if you can live with it then it’s a good deal. I figured I’d rather spend a little more for new.

Yes and the spoiler would have to come off as well. It would have been to many things for me to repair to my liking. Like I said if your ok with those things cosmetically and can live with it you will be fine. Knowing how I am I will obsess and look at those issues everyday and not be happy. If any shop tells you pearl white can be matched perfectly then they are lying to you. All the Tesla authorized shops told me it can get close but never perfect and will be noticeable when looking at it. Only way would be paint entire car again in pearl white.

So I will be getting delivery tomorrow. They will be delivering it to my house. They sent me pictures of the scratch it had in the other photos. It seems like they repaired it so I’m glad for that. Hopefully I accept it when I see the car.
