I have to say, delivery exceeded my expectations! I picked the P3D+ up from Alpharetta-Roswell in Atlanta. My DS was very helpful, and everything was squared away within an hour and a half (we are a mil family, so there were added complications with moving around so much). I started a 600 mile road trip right from the dealership for work. Tesla Alpharetta/Roswell took my request to charge it up to 100% after I convinced them it was okay. I had a lot of concerns with taking such a brand-new piece of high-tech wizardry on such a long journey untested, but thankfully (almost) everything worked beautifully. Once we finished the paperwork and I had all my luggage and camera equipment unloaded (yes, I will be posting a P3D+ video in 2-3 weeks...less talk/more substance), I was on my way to VA. I pulled right across the parking lot to set up some GoPro cameras to record my first mashing of the pedal. I’ve had muscle cars my whole life. I sold a 2017 2SS Camaro for this, so I was expecting an “iteration” of improvement. But man, this thing is FAST with a capital F! Especially 100% charged. It was quite surprising to me and I feel like my reaction video makes me look stupid because I burst out laughing with excitement, but I’m pushing myself to include it in the video anyway. For my first leg, I was supposed to arrive in Charlotte with a 10% charge, but I was in a laser-precise stealth machine with “weapons-grade” technology that promised instant delivery whenever I demanded it. Combine that with a young man in a 370z who had no idea what kind of car I was driving (he found out), and I had to stop at another supercharger stall early as a result. But after 20 minutes I was ready to continue my trip. Unfortunately, my EAP didn’t work for the trip. I called the service center today and they are pushing an update to my P3D for download. But for my trip yesterday I had to actually drive the car like a caveman. But it drives like a dream. I drive with whichever traffic is flowing fastest. Usually you’ll have a set of cars drive a good deal faster over the speed limit. I was afraid this would dramatically affect my range, but I found that the superchargers really do work quite fast! I was getting 400+mi/hr at my stops, and those usually only lasted 20-30 minutes before I’d kick off to the next one. Worst Wh/mi performance (thanks 370z): 390 Best Wh/mi performance: 299 I finally arrived at my destination, 600 miles later, late at night. I crashed on my hotel bed with flashes of the road trip playing through my mind. Guys and gals, this car is incredible!
Great writeop! Your enthusiasm comes through well. The world doesn't know how awesome these cars are.
