Key Fob not working by building

Good Morning, I parked on a military base next to a building and left my phone in the car. When I came out the key FOB would not unlock the car. I had changed the battery in the fob a week earlier, so I know that wasn't the problem. I pulled the battery out and put it back in. It finally opened the door, but would not start the car. I used my phone to start the car. When I got to the build where i normally work, my FOB was working like it is supposed to. Could there be an RF signal around the building where I had the problem that is blocking my FOB signal? Anyone else have this problem?

First thing to try is replace the battery again. It could have been bad. You can minimize, or isolate RF interference by putting the key fob in the emergency location, which will allow even a key fob with a dead battery to work. On my 2020 S, this is:

To unlock Model S (and disable the security
alarm) using the key, first position the key near
the base of the passenger side windshield
wiper. Then press the front door handle on the
right side of the vehicle. If Model S doesn't
unlock, try adjusting the position of the key
and try again. T he key must be in the correct
position for the vehicle to unlock.
Note: T he following illustration assumes a left
hand drive (LHD) vehicle. On a right hand
drive (RHD) vehicle, the locations are
mirrored.
To drive Model S after gaining access to the
cabin, place the bottom of the key against the
center console, immediately below the 12V
power outlet, then press and hold the brake
pedal to start Model S.
