Yep. And Tesla is going to release a patch to prevent it. So why worry?
why worry: information is out already on what the problem is and patch is not.
also the problem appears to be in keyfob firmware and currently there's no way to actually update said firmware outside of special Tesla tools (toolbox). This is not to say that patch won't contain user-facing key update mechanism of course, but a "if you are concerned schedule an appointment with a nearby service center at your convenience" approach is also not out of the question.

The thief also needs to be within 15 feet of your key for at least a minute and a half with a backpack full of hacking gear. The media reports make these things seem like a vulnerability was identified and now everyone’s Model X is going to get stolen in the next 2 days. Chances aren’t at zero, but you probably have a better chance of totaling your model x in an accident than this happening to you....

yea. Statically, people are probably more likely to be carjacked at gun point :eek:. Well, I guess that depends on where a person drives ;)
