The accusations leveled in that article are so old and tired they are hardly worth refuting. To choose an obvious one, once again someone attacks Tesla for receiving incentives from the state of Nevada for locating the Gigafactory there, completely ignoring the fact that the incentives are only provided if Tesla meets very specific goals in defined timeframes, and the incentives are doled out over decades, a period of time during which Tesla provides thousands of jobs in the Reno area and boosts the state's economy. It is easy to show that on balance Nevada gains far more than it loses.

I do not see how that qualifies as "crony capitalism".

That kind of article is designed to appeal to the person that already has the belief that "green" equals "bad+spending." The fact that the article is filled with inaccuracies and nonsense is beside the point. I've had lots of naysayers use that piece of propaganda to justify their hatred. They have no clue that SpaceX has already saved taxpayers billions and getting very close to tens of billions. They also have no idea that ULA uses Russian made rocket engines and that ULA is paid $1 billion a year to be "ready."

What's really fun is when you try to constructively explain to them all the ways that article is wrong, only to have them continue to willfully be ignorant to prop up their "green" equals "bad+spending" logic and/or demean you and/or mock you because you happen to know actual information on a topic.

When did having facts & context become such a dreaded and maligned thing?
