Lake Tahoe Resort Hotel [charging options]

I have been to Tahoe several times, always staying in North Shore and charging at a condo or destination charger w/o incident. However, this upcoming weekend I made a reservation at the Lake Tahoe Resort Hotel in South Lake, forgetting to check for destination charging. It didn't seem like this would be a problem until I called the hotel and they told me that therr are no electric car charging options at the hotel.

I left a message with Bell Services, without a returned call.

Does anyone know of convenient charging stations around this hotel?

I was just in south lake this weekend and had to make my own 14-30r adapter to charge my tesla at the airbnb I was staying at. Unfortunately there are very few public chargers in south tahoe. The HPWCs at Timber Lodge or Grand Residences seem to be hit or miss.

I will try Grand Residences and Timber Lodge. Thanks Tam & Xbox.

Anyone have a report on miles-used going from Folsom [or Truckee] SC to South Shore? Would I have enough juice to return without a charge? My P85 charges to 255 miles but that climb up the hill really drains the battery.

We usually stay in North Shore -charging at Truckee on the drive up- using destination charge for the weekend. Driving to South Shore has never been a problem. This is my first trip directly to South Shore. That Hard Rock supercharger is badly needed!!!

Resolved.

Called the hotel again, front desk attendant was much more helpful this time around. Charging is available at Harvey's across the street. Problem solved! :)

That is what I always use - you will need a ChargePoint card, although its free. It is only about a 200 yard walk from the charger to the LTRH (which is the old Embassy Suites). The chargers are right near the bridge between the garage and the casino, so the area tends to be busy - if I recall that is Level 3

The roundtrip to Folsom is possible (I have done that in my X90D). You lose miles getting there, but only use around 40 rated miles to get back - basically once you cross Echo Summit you use virtually no miles at all - its a wonderful experience!

Perfect. Yeah, love that regen going back down the hill! At this point, I'm thinking we will take I-80 stopping at Truckee for a charge and see how things look once we arrive. Happy to know there is charging once we get there. I'll get a Chargepoint card, it may not be needed but do not want a surprise.

Thanks for the feedback!

I've done the Folsom round trip with no problem in my P85. You don't use much coming back. You can top up at the Heavenly parking lot at the California side if you like.

There is a free charger at the courthouse, you will need your adapter though... I cannot remember the amperage.
There is another free HPWC at Chase Realty, right on the corner of Tahoe Keys Blvd (might not be convenient with all the traffic - 15-20 minutes away)

And of course, I have a 240v in my garage!

As it turned out, the extra charge was not needed. Short story: Summer time trip from Folsom supercharger to S. Lake Tahoe and back to Folsom is no problem in a P85 w/250 miles of range.

Thanks for the help everyone! :)
