Lamborghini and Lotus unveil last gasoline-only supercars

Lamborghini on Wednesday unveiled what will be its last V12-powered supercar driven purely on gasoline. While there will be more V12 Lamborghini models in the future, they will be plug-in hybrids, the Italian supercar manufacturer said.

Lotus is not just a "rich people" car. It's true though, they should have transitioned to EV a long time ago. They had a great opportunity with the OG Roadster to learn about EV design. Given that Lotus generally sources their motors, it should have been obvious to them that a transition to a much simpler motor design would be a huge advantage. They would (maybe!) own the performance end of the EV market right now if they had started back then. Instead they wasted years and millions on things like a rapping design chief and an EV nobody can afford.

Same story with the EV version of the Smart car that Tesla made for Mercedes-Benz and the EV version of the RAV4 for Toyota !!!

This shows that ICE manufacturs want to keep their engines and gearboxes factories running for as long as possible
to avoid having to close those factories and to have to lay off half of their employees.

Roadster esque in the rear. Really nice though. Too bad it burns gas and pollutes. Lotus is dumb for not making that thing electric. Would totally buy
