I've read elsewhere on this forum that auto unlock of the X would be coming in a future update. As of the latest update last night, my non Premium pkg 90D still requires me to walk up to the car, press one of the door handles in once to unlock the car, walk back to the charge port to remove the unlocked charger and back to press the door handle a second time to have it swing open.
I know you can press the key fob to unlock, but rarely our key fob is actually in our hands.

Does anyone else have to approach and press the door handle in twice to have the door swing open?

I cannot stand this feature. Just about any other car built since 2010 has a auto unlock feature where if the fob is within range your door unlocks for you.

I have auto lock enabled in settings but there is no such this as auto unlock on approach.

    Any insight is appreciated!

I just walk up to my 90D with premium with my keyfob in my pocket and the driver door will open (I have Auto-Present Drivers Door turned on in the Settings). I also don't have to "unlock" the car to remove the charger cable.

I will admit that the doors "unlocking" have strange random behavior. When I am demoing my MX for someone, I sometimes fumble around with unlocking, opening, etc the doors.

Yeah the strange behavior is a daily routine with a multitude of things I've learned to accept, but non premium and having no auto unlock still has me baffled.

My X auto unlocks as soon as I'm near it with the fob. You may have something wrong with it. Try a system restart maybe?

I've had my X since late January and it always unlocked on approach. Then a recent OTH update caused it to behave like yours. I complained about it when I took the car in for the rear seat recall. The Service Center had to do something (flashed?) both key fobs and resolved the issue. I think the OTH update in question tightened the security of the fob signal and resulted in the issue with some fobs.

    It's all resolved now.

Make sure the lock in the upper left corner of the main touchscreen isn't locked. This prevents auto unlock from working, among other things.
