Leasing

Any expectation as to leasing will be available for Model 3? My configurator is open and would like performance but looking for a means to lower monthly payments. I called Tesla, no guidance yet.

Probably in a years time when all of the reservations and new orders are filled in the 60 day time frame. There is no point in the overhead of leasing when the demand is so high.

Something to consider when leasing Tesla's is you can either

Lease 3 of them with no equity at the end.
Own 2 of them outright.

For the same payment stream.

Individual circumstances and deals may vary but Tesla leases in general are not subsidized so they are expensive.

Sorry to bear bad news but I would not even consider a tweet from Elon to be authoritative - unless the time range is short. Like one week or less.

No one from a store is going to give any kind of reliable and actionable date.

I think in 2019 we’ll see more competition and choices in EV’s. Hopefully Tesla will open up leasing for the M3 early in 2019. It’s only 6 months away so by that time perhaps the SR will also be available.
